Loctite 271 High-strength anaerobic threadlocker, 50 ml
Description
High-strength anaerobic threadlocker for large bolts and studs. Fills the threads, cures and prevents the joint from loosening under impacts and vibration, while sealing the thread against leaks and corrosion. For joints not dismantled in normal servicing.
Application:
- large bolts and studs

Features:
- single-component, based on dimethacrylate ester
- cures without air access between metal thread surfaces
- fluoresces under ultraviolet — application is easy to check
- after curing resistant to engine oil, petrol, brake fluid and solvents
- on inactive metals and with slow curing use Loctite SF 7471 or SF 7649 activator
- not recommended for plastics; do not use in systems with pure oxygen or as a sealant for chlorine and strong oxidisers
Application procedure:
1) clean and degrease the thread
2) through hole — apply several drops on the bolt in the nut zone; blind — on the hole thread down to the bottom
3) assemble and tighten the joint
The joint locks within the fixture time, reaches full strength in one day at room temperature.
Disassembly:
Cannot be dismantled with ordinary tools without heat: heat the bolt or nut locally to about 250 °C and unscrew while the joint is hot. Cured adhesive removed with Loctite solvent and a brush. For joints dismantled with ordinary tools — medium-strength locker Loctite 243.
