Medium strength anaerobic threadlockers Loctite 243

Medium-strength anaerobic threadlocker. Fills the threads, cures and prevents the threaded joint from loosening under vibration and impacts, while sealing the thread against leaks and corrosion. The joint is dismantled with ordinary hand tools.

Application:
- bolts, nuts and studs of pumps, gearboxes, engines and automotive equipment
- fasteners dismantled during servicing
- sealing thread against fluid leaks

Features:
- single-component, based on dimethacrylate ester
- fluoresces under ultraviolet — application is easy to check
- after curing resistant to engine oil, petrol, brake fluid, antifreeze and biodiesel
- with slow curing or large gap an activator is used
- not recommended for plastics; do not use in systems with pure oxygen or as a sealant for chlorine and strong oxidisers

Application procedure:
1) clean and degrease the thread, allow to dry
2) through hole — apply several drops on the bolt in the nut zone; blind — on the lower third of the hole thread
3) for sealing — apply a bead around the outer thread turns, leave the first turn clean
4) assemble and tighten the joint
The joint reaches full strength in one day at room temperature.

Disassembly:
Unscrewed with ordinary hand tools. If the joint will not yield, heat the nut or bolt locally to about 250 °C and unscrew while hot. Adhesive residues removed with Loctite solvent and a wire brush. For joints not dismantled in servicing — high-strength locker Loctite 271.
