Loctite 620 Anaerobic adhesive for retaining cylindrical assemblies, 50 ml
Description
Anaerobic adhesive for retaining cylindrical joints with increased heat resistance. Fills the gap between shaft and bush, cures and locks the parts rigidly — they neither rotate nor shift.
Application:
- bushes and sleeves in housings and on shafts
- bearings, including in automatic gearboxes
- pins in radiators
- assemblies that heat up in operation
Features:
- single-component, based on methacrylate ester
- after heating joint strength increases
- after curing resistant to engine oil, petrol, brake fluid, antifreeze and acetone
- not recommended for plastics; do not use in systems with pure oxygen or as a sealant for chlorine and strong oxidisers
Application procedure:
1) clean and degrease parts, allow to dry; for acceleration and large gaps — activator
2) clearance fit — apply adhesive to shaft edge and inside bush, assemble with rotation
3) press fit — apply adhesive to both surfaces and press quickly
4) interference fit — apply a thin film, heat the outer part or cool the inner
5) do not load the assembly until the adhesive gains strength
Disassembly:
Dismantle with local heating to about 300 °C while the assembly is hot. Residues removed with Loctite solvent and a brush.
