Loctite 7200 Solvent for removing hardened chemical and silicone gaskets
Description
Designed for removing hardened chemical gaskets, sealants, adhesives, carbon deposits and old paint from metal surfaces. Eliminates the need for rough mechanical cleaning, protecting parts from scratches and damage
Base: Methylene chloride / methanol
Recommended surfaces: aluminium, steel, cast iron, copper, brass
Caution: not recommended for use on plastic, rubber and painted parts
Softens aged seals and flange sealants in 10–15 minutes
Eliminates use of scrapers, files or sandpaper, which prevents scratches and flange deformation
Thanks to the aerosol form the compound is easily applied even in the most hard-to-reach places
Effectively handles silicones, anaerobic compounds, polyurethane adhesives, carbon deposits, mastics, paint and varnish
After spraying the compound turns into a foam layer that does not run off vertical surfaces, extending contact time
Application instructions:
Where possible protect painted plastic or rubber parts (the compound may damage them)
Spray a thick layer onto the surface to be cleaned from 20–25 cm
Leave the compound to act for 10–15 minutes (removing dense silicone or anaerobic gaskets may take up to 30 minutes)
Remove softened residues with a soft wooden or plastic scraper, then wipe the surface with a cloth
Repeat if necessary
