Loctite 515 Anaerobic flange sealant for separable joints / butt seams, 50 ml
Description
Anaerobic flange sealant — liquid gasket for rigid metal flanges with close fit. Applied instead of a cut gasket, cures in the gap between flanges without air access and allows small flange movements.
Application:
- gearbox housings and axle cases
- pumps, thermostats and compressors
- other rigid metal flanges with close fit
Features:
- single-component, based on methacrylate ester
- holds low pressure immediately after assembly — tightness can be checked before curing
- after curing resistant to engine oil and antifreeze
- excess squeezed outside does not cure — wipe with a cloth
- fluoresces under ultraviolet
- not recommended for plastics; do not use in systems with pure oxygen or as a sealant for chlorine and strong oxidisers
Application procedure:
1) clean and degrease the surfaces
2) apply sealant as a continuous bead on one flange face
3) assemble the unit and tighten fasteners as soon as possible
4) if needed, check tightness with low pressure immediately after assembly
