Loctite 641 Shaft-hub retaining adhesive medium strength, 50 ml
Description
Medium-strength anaerobic retaining adhesive for cylindrical fits. Fills the gap between parts and eliminates play, fretting corrosion and rotation of sliding and light-interference fits; does not shrink or shift from vibration.
Application
- bearings on shafts and in housings
- bushes
- pulleys
Features
- single-component, based on methacrylate ester
- cures without air access in the gap between metal surfaces; excess outside remains liquid and is wiped off with a cloth
- main material — steel; on inactive metals and at low temperature curing is accelerated with Loctite SF 7471 or SF 7649 activator
- not recommended for plastics
Application procedure:
1) clean and degrease the parts
2) apply adhesive to the mating surface
3) assemble the joint
Handling strength is reached within the fixture time, full strength — after one day at room temperature.
Disassembly:
Intended for assemblies that are regularly taken apart: heat the assembly locally and separate, remove cured adhesive with Loctite solvent and a brush.
