YT-28631 Non-contact voltage tester 70-1000 V

Description

Determination of AC voltage by the contact method: 70 - 250 V
Determination of AC voltage by the inductive method: 70 - 1000 V
Battery condition check by the contact method: from 1.5 to 9 V
Wire continuity check by the contact method: 0 - 100 MOhm

Length 140 mm
Tip width 3.0 mm
Tester sensitivity adjustment for the inductive method [H]high - [L]ow
Audible and visual alarm (LED)
Power supply 2x1.5 V; LR44

Checking for phase presence
Set the tester to position [O], insert the tester tip into the hole in the socket
If the red LED lights up - a phase is present
It is not recommended to touch the contact on the side of the tip, as this increases the tester sensitivity and may distort the readings

Battery condition check
1) set the tester to position [O]
2) touch the contact on the side of the handle
3) bring the tester tip to the battery terminal marked «+»,
4) with the other hand touch the battery terminal marked «-»
When the LED is on, the battery still has voltage.

Wire continuity check
1) set the tester to position [O] or [L]
2) touch the contact on the handle side
3) bring the tester tip to one stripped end of the wire
4) with the other hand take hold of the other stripped end of the wire
If set to [O], cable continuity is indicated by the red LED. When set to [L] the green diode lights up and an audible signal sounds

Inductive method - non-contact voltage detection, including under plaster
To check for voltage in an insulated wire:
1) set the tester to position [L]
2) holding the tip, bring the metal contact on the top of the handle to the insulated wire
A green LED and an audible signal indicate the presence of voltage
Sensitivity can be increased by switching the key from [L] to [H]
This method also allows non-contact detection of a break in a live electrical wire
