AUDO-BST100 Vehicle battery diagnostic tool

Description

Designed for testing the full spectrum of 12-volt lead-acid batteries:
flooded, gel, SLI, VRLA, MF, SMF, VRLA, AGM, EPB AGM, VRLA, maintained and maintenance-free with cranking currents FROM 100 TO 2000A and capacity from 12 to 220 Ah.
Parameter reading accuracy 99%
Graphical charging monitoring on the display, in real time.
Non-volatile memory of the last test results.

Permissible voltage of the tested battery from 9v to 15V DC!

The instrument can test:
- battery,
- starter circuit,
- charging parameters from the alternator,
- charging voltage ripple level.
Instrument menu in Russian.

When measuring with this tester the battery is not discharged, a whole series of measurements can be made without risk of "flattening" the battery, which with other check methods, for example a control discharge or a load fork - is impossible.

Has a whole range of protections:
- tester protection against reverse polarity when connecting it,
- overvoltage protection,
- detection of poor tester connection contact.

The tester is powered from the battery under test.

Precautions!
Before testing check the insulation of the clamps. There must be no damage. Do not use or store the tester in conditions of high temperature, dust, high humidity, flammability, vibration and a strong electromagnetic field. If this is not observed the instrument may be damaged!

Operating principle of the microprocessor battery tester
The basis for determining all battery parameters is its internal resistance. To measure internal resistance the principle of assessing the battery response to bipolar rectangular pulses of small amplitude at 10-100Hz is used, which are generated by the tester and applied to + and - of the battery under test. Battery parameters are calculated by the built-in processor by assessing and comparing the battery internal resistance (CCA) and the voltage (or the magnitude of its change) at its terminals. Given that battery internal resistance is only hundredths of an Ohm, measurement at the terminals is done by the Kelvin 4-wire method (in each cable 2 insulated wires are connected to the "crocodile clips").
Formulae and constants for calculation are embedded in the processor. An eight-bit microcontroller with flash memory is used.

Testing recommendations
Immediately after charging the battery voltage will be above normal. Therefore after charging switch on the headlights for 2-3 minutes, and then when the voltage has fallen to the normal value start testing the battery.

Important!
Good contact of the entire inner surface of the clamp with the terminals must be ensured. The instrument reacts to every additional milliohm due to poor contact with the terminal. Inside each cable two separate wires run to the "crocodile" clamps. The first is connected to the clamp itself. and the second is connected to an insulated toothed contact pad inside the clamp.
