The section includes 450 mm cable cutters for cable up to 8 mm, a cutter for 4 mm cable, 600 mm wire-rod cutters up to 8 mm, cutters for rods and wire up to 3.5 mm, a 200 mm bolt cutter and a manual hydraulic cutter 8 t for 4–16 mm.

For wire rod and wire the usual choice is 600 mm wire-rod cutters; for thin rods — cutters up to 3.5 mm. Cable up to 8 mm is cut with a 450 mm cable cutter; rod up to 16 mm — a hydraulic cutter. Thin wire and cable are easier with side cutters.
