Side and end cutting pliers cut wire, nails, cable and plastic. The section includes side cutters from 115 to 180 mm — standard, heavy-duty, high- and extra-strength, plastic cutters 125 mm, end cutting pliers from 115 to 275 mm and rebar tying pliers 280 and 300 mm.

For the workshop and electrical work the usual choice is 160 mm side cutters. Thick hard wire is easier with high-strength side cutters or heavy-duty 180 mm. Plastic and cable ties are cut with plastic cutters. Nails and wire flush with a surface — end cutting pliers; rebar is tied with tying pliers. For thick rod and cable — cable cutters and bolt cutters.
